Research project

I'm working in the "RyeDUS" project, which evaluates the usefulness of DNA-based markers in comparison to morphological DUS testing in Rye varieties. One approach is to calculate morphological and genetic distances, like Euclidean, Manhattan, Rodger's or Mahalanobis distance to differentiate varieties. To reach my project goals, I apply various statistical approaches, like descriptive statistics, but also hypothesis testing, regression models (e.g. generalized linear models (GLMs)) and ANOVAs. Additionally, I'm analyzing the structure of my morphological and genetic data using Multidimensional Scaling (MDS), Principal Component Analyses (PCA) and Discriminant Analysis of Principal Components (DAPC).
